Sun spots on the face:what can be removed and what to know before pigmentation treatment
- Sun spots and age spots are clusters of pigment (melanin) in the skin, usually after years of sun. A lightening cream only fades them a little.
- Ruby 694 nm is absorbed by pigment, not by blood vessels or the surrounding skin. That is why it suits well-defined brown spots so well.
- A visible change comes after the first session, and sometimes one session is enough. Usually it takes 1 to 5 sessions.
- Melasma is a different condition and we do not treat it. The diagnosis tells you which type of spot you have.
Why sun spots appear on the face
Skin protects itself from the sun with melanin, the pigment that gives it colour. After years of Israeli sun at the beach, in the army, driving or running outdoors, pigment cells start working unevenly and concentrate colour in certain spots. That is how sun spots and age spots form.
They show up where the sun hits most: cheeks, temples, forehead and nose. On men they stand out especially on skin that spent years without sunscreen.
A spot like this doesn’t hurt, but it adds years and a tired look to the face. Most people come to us simply because they want clearer, more even skin.
Pigmentation treatment in Tel Aviv →Which spot do you have? Not every brown spot is the same
Before any treatment it matters to understand what we are looking at. It decides whether treatment will help and how.
| Type of spot | What it looks like | Do we treat it? |
|---|---|---|
| Sun spot / age spot | A defined, flat brown spot after years in the sun | Yes |
| Freckles | Small brown dots that darken in summer | Yes, after diagnosis |
| Mark after a pimple | A brown mark where a pimple used to be | Depends on diagnosis |
| Melasma | Wide, symmetric patches that worsen with sun and heat | No |
A mole, a spot that changes shape or colour, or one that grows fast should be checked by a dermatologist first. We treat only spots that are clearly ordinary pigmentation.
Why we don’t treat melasma
Melasma looks like wide, symmetric patches on the cheeks, forehead or above the lip. It is linked to hormones and heat, not only to the sun.
Melasma is a skin condition that needs a different treatment. Aggressive treatment can make it worse and bring it back stronger. So when we see melasma at the diagnosis, we say so honestly and don’t start treatment.
How Ruby 694 nm removes sun spots
At Taletsky we work with the Quanta System Ruby 694 nm, a medical device from Italy. This wavelength is absorbed well by melanin and much less by blood vessels and the surrounding skin.
A very short pulse breaks the pigment into tiny particles. Over the following days the spot darkens slightly and flakes off, and the body clears the rest gradually.
We choose the exact combination personally for you.

How many sessions and when you see a result
Unlike scars, the result here is relatively fast:
| What | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Number of sessions | Usually 1 to 5, depending on the spot’s size and depth |
| Visible change | After the first session |
| What happens to the spot | Darkens and flakes off within 1 to 2 weeks |
| Back to work | Same day |
| Price | Per session, by area size* |
Old, dark spots can need more sessions. A small, light spot sometimes disappears after a single session.

What the treatment actually looks like
Diagnosis. We look at the spots in good light, make sure it is pigmentation and not melasma, and check your skin tone. On darker or tanned skin the settings are more cautious, and sometimes we will recommend a different route.
The treatment. You feel a short, warm snap, like a rubber band. Cold air from the Zimmer Cryo 7 makes it much easier. Treating a few spots on the face takes a few minutes.
After. The spot darkens and a thin crust forms that usually falls off by itself within one to two weeks. Don’t scratch or peel it. SPF 50 every day and no direct sun on the area.
About pigmentation treatment →When is the best time to remove sun spots
The most comfortable time is autumn and winter: less sun, easier aftercare and a result that holds better. Start now and your skin is clear by summer.
Sun without protection can create new spots even after a successful treatment. Sunscreen is part of the result, not an extra.
